Well House & Plant Stall

On the outskirts of Grafton village, nestling under a hillside with long views to the White Horse and Hambleton hills, extending to 1½ acres, this garden was begun 40 yrs ago and is constantly changing. A traditional English cottage garden, with herbaceous borders, climbing and rambling roses, and ornamental shrubs with a variety of interesting species. Gates lead to orchard with hens and ducks. 

Well House is part of the National Open Garden Scheme.

Overlooking open fields and woodland with distant views of York Minster, this elevated garden set in approx 2 acres mixes English cottage gardening with Mediterranean and Tropical styles. A curved terrace of York stone with a profusion of pots and extensive plant collections leads down to seating areas, culminating in cutting beds and a small greenhouse.
